The course is delivered face-to-face in a structured classroom environment and includes access to the ATS online course, textbook, practice exams and instructor support.
Class sizes are limited to ensure each student receives the individual attention they need to prepare for the exam.

Yes. Full-time students also receive access to the complete ATS online course for the subject they are attending. This allows you to do some preparation beforehand and continue revising after the classroom component if required.
No. Accommodation is not provided as part of the course, so students travelling to Perth will need to arrange their own accommodation.
There are a number of Airbnb and short-stay accommodation options nearby, which are commonly used by students attending our full-time courses.
Yes. For the standalone Flight Planning course, you will need to book your own CASA exam. We recommend booking it no sooner than 10 days after the course finishes, giving you time to revise, complete practice exams and consolidate the material before sitting the exam.
No. CASA examination fees are not included in the advertised course fee. Where ATS books an exam on your behalf, the examination fee is still payable separately.
The $200 deposit is non-refundable. The deposit secures your position in a course with limited places and forms part of your total course fee.
We’ll send you information before the course covering what you need to bring. Your ATS course materials and textbook are provided as part of the course, but you should bring your usual study equipment, calculator and anything else you prefer to use for note-taking.
There is no requirement to complete the online course before attending. However, we strongly recommend making use of your early online access if you have the time. Even a small amount of preparation can make the classroom course easier to follow and give you more time to focus on the more challenging areas.
That’s the goal. With ATPL Flight Planning, there are really two parts to your preparation: first, learning the content, methods and all the small details needed to complete the flight plan correctly; and second, being able to do it within the three-hour exam time limit without making too many errors.
The classroom course is primarily focused on the first part. We teach you the content, calculation methods, exam techniques and how to approach the different types of Flight Planning questions correctly.
We do have students who sit the exam immediately after the course, but we generally recommend allowing some additional time afterwards to focus on practice, speed and consistency before sitting the CASA exam.
